So here it is the first day of January for the new year. No great fanfare, no noise, no congested areas to manuver. It was a smooth transition.
Did I make any resolutions? No.... I never make any. I just let every day come and go as it does and see what it brings.
I have made a lot of friends and I enjoy them all. Some of my friends are authors and a few I do communicate with. I read their post and their newsletters. They have some funny quips which usually make my day.
It is because of these friends , authors and non authors that have made me decide to keep on writing. I may not be published. But you know what? I don't care. I write down my feelings on paper and if it looks good after I read it then I revolve a story around it. It comes out pretty good.
A lot of publishers want the stories tweaked to the point that the story is not yours anymore. I won't do that. So I will just keep writing. One day my grandchildren will read what I wrote and hear my stories as they happened. They are funny, serious ,sad and they are my memories.
I was always told that if you didn't have a mind to think for yourself then you may as well be a person who just shrinks away. Well anybody who knows me knows I am not that type of person.
So I will start to write a small story on my experiences growing up. I hope you get the enjoyment of reading them as I have at writing them. So I will be starting a small assortment of stories. Now keep in mind these are all true based on growing up with my siblings and others.
So get ready because the story time is about to start.
Until then

December's End
It's the end of December and the month is coming to an end. It's time to reflect back and see if there are any things I need to re-do. I'm sure there are.
The Christmas hustle and bustle has stopped and the New Year is fast approaching around the corner. I always say I'm going to do this and I'm going to do that with each new year that comes, but I never do. So this time around I'll let the chips fall where they may and deal with the repercussions.
Don't get me wrong , I'm all for making new resolutions and trying to abide by them. But I am going to try this year NOT making any resolutions and see what goes.
I have made up my mind though that I am going to be strict on myself about writing. I have so many stories in my mind and I have to get them down on paper. Now maybe they won't get published because I am very bullheaded about how my stories get picked apart. I will go along for awhile but when I see that my story is not being mine then I put the anchor out and come to a complete halt.
I have three stories wrote and the one I did submit was picked apart and picked apart that it started to become someone else's and not mine. So I stooped it. I'll bring it back out at some point.
There are all kinds of story tellers. And that is what writers are, storytellers . They tell a story their way and manage to bring people to the words. I will be an author someday. But in my writing and not someone else's.
So this note is short and I will be writing again. And I will be posting again. I have some awesome friends on Facebook who are authors and I love reading their blogs. So I will continue to live by my rules and yes, I will take suggestions into consideration.
Until later

November Blog
It's been a while since I last blogged. I need to get back into the routine of doing it weekly or at least monthly.
I also need to get back to writing. I was kind of bummed about a certain publishing company wanting me to constantly "tweak" my book to how they wanted it. NO...it will stay the way it is. I had some people who I had read it and requested they give me "true , honest" opinions of it. They all liked the story so it stays.
I have a lot of author friends on Facebook and I follow their blogs and they are so much fun to read and follow. I thank them for allowing me to share in their blogs.
A lot going on in my work life. I now have to commute to a new facility that is an hour and ten minute drive one way in horrible morning work traffic. But I will survive it.
Maybe it will give me food for thought in a new writing piece. (Insert a chuckle there)
Fall has arrived and the trees are glorious in their colors. I love Fall as it is my very favorite time of year, followed by Spring.
The grandkids went out for Halloween and seemed to enjoy it. I have to be honest here...I am not a fan of Halloween. It does not excite me and never did. I love, love , love Christmas though. I am getting geared up towards it. I love the festivities and the programs at Church and the looks on the kids faces as they look at the decorations.
So with nothing more to say I will sign off.
Until later

My Thought For The Day
So after much deliberation I have finally decided to update my blog. I do believe it is going to be updated quite often from here on out.
I am finding more and more that I distrust people that I believed in before. They have given me just reason for this distrust.
I give the benefit of the doubt but sooner or later , sure enough, they lay it in my lap . Enough lies to never believe their trust again.
I ask myself quite often why people go through great lengths to lie instead of telling the truth. Yes, the truth hurts, but lies will make you never to trust in a person again. There will always be that doubt.
The people I thought were my friends are not. I can work along side of them or congregate with them, but there is no more trusting them.
I am better off staying to myself and just getting what it is to get done and leave for the day. I don't join clicks because I do not believe in them. Clicks to me mean that you are in a group that really doesn't want to associate with certain people. I try to treat people( and I hope I do) with the utmost respect and always be truthful towards them. And I would hope people are truthful with me.
Well it just goes to show you that a lot of people cannot be truthful to your face.
I try to see the best in everyone. You CANNOT always tell a book by it's cover. You have to get to know it and form your own opinion and not let another's opinion rule you.
OK I'll quit the ranting for now. I do feel better about this.
I will continue to be myself and try to see the good in all.

Oh So Long
OK...it's been oh so long since I have blogged. First of all this blog set up on google sometimes ticks me off.
Second now I find I have a very little time to blog. But that is going to change. I really like blogging and just putting thoughts down.
I attended a meeting the other night in town. I am on the Bicentennial Committee and we are trying to get things together for the celebration which will take place next year in 2014.
A lot of good ideas are flowing and now they are trying to solidify them so they come together and we have the plans in front of us to go by.
I guess I better bring you up on my book. It was first told to me that the publisher liked it but it needed some "small amount" of tweaking. OK ..I understood that. So I tweaked it and re did it and re submitted to the publisher.
Then I get a second rejection and the reason was because it was back and forth between first and third person. So OK...tweak again and resubmit. And along came rejection number three. Only this time they said they had a very hard time following the story. But the only thing I tweaked on it was some of the letters had to be capitalized and punctuations. So I have placed that book on that back burner for later submission. My second book is done and I am really looking it over very carefully and making sure all the I's are dotted and T's crossed.
I was thing about the story tellers who verbally tell their stories. Do they stop and think "Am I speaking in first or third person?" I don't think so. I feel if you tell a good story whether first person or third person you are either going to grab a person's interest or your not.
I think a lot of these people who "start up" their own publishing companies loose sight of what the values are. You should want to help a person and be "VERY" truthful with them. Don't say you like the story very much and it just needs a little tweaking and then later say "well it needs more tweaking " before finally saying you can't follow it. Come on...give us some credit.
I haven't given up and I don't take rejection to heart. I know I tell a good story. I have had people who are not in the literary field read my writings and tell me they are really good. And that is what matters to me.
So now the weekend is upon us and we are waiting for the relief from this heat phase. I am looking over my writing again and will send it to my literary agent and just wait, but now dwell on it. I have too many other things I must do.
So until later
